We're delighted to have been awarded on 10th November 2016 a cheque for a staggering £22,500 from the Keswick to Barrow Committee.
In an true community effort, the Keswick to Barrow committee will award a total of £350,905 to 244 different charities, surpassing its previous highest donation figure by around £4,000. This was from this year's 50th event on Saturday 9th May.
St Mary's Hospice is absolutely delighted with the amount raised, which will enable many more patients and their loved ones to access our services. As a charity we receive approx. 22% of funding from the NHS the rest comes from our generous and supportive community.
Zoe Guest, Head of Income Generation for St Mary's Hospice:"A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this years K2B & C2B raising money for St Mary's and the wonderful committee. We have tonight been awarded with £22,500 with more to come. This is beyond what we could have hoped for. Thank you so much."
Melissa Dixon, Community Fundraiser for St Mary's Hospice: "Last year we had 48 people walking on behalf of St Mary's, and this year we set a new record ourselves with a total of 132 walkers! All of our walkers were amazing, the sheer grit and determination they showed on the day was brilliant. And all our volunteers were brilliant who helped in the run up and on the day. Also thank you to Stollers for their sponsorship. Everyone's efforts has resulted in this fantastic donation, I feel so proud to be involved in this and the community spirit is inspiring. We are looking forward to next year already!"
