Leave a gift in your will today ...
In 2016, as part of the Cumbria Hospice Alliance, the Fundraising Leads from five hospices across Cumbria have worked together to develop a gifts in
wills campaign that is being launched on 1st May 2017.
The Cumbria Hospice Alliance (CHA) is a strategic alliance of five hospices including Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Cumbria Children’s Hospice, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, Hospice at Home West Cumbria, St John’s Hospice and St Mary’s Hospice. Through working together and sharing expertise and resources, the group have developed a joint legacy campaign. This is aimed at inspiring people to consider leaving a gift to their local hospice and hospice at home teams with the powerful message “Do something wonderful today, so our nurses can care tomorrow.”
A spokesperson for the CHA says: “Gifts in wills is a core part of hospice and hospice at home income. This currently provides funding for the care of approx. one in five hospice patients. We are encouraging supporters in our community - after looking after family and friends – to consider leaving a gift in their will. Any gift, however large or small, will make a big difference in providing essential hospice services so that no-one has to face a life-limiting illness on their own.”
The campaign message will be consistently shared by the five hospices across social media, online media, a printed leaflet, local radio and newspapers. A specific web page: www.dosomethingwonderfultoday.org.uk has been created to provide more information and access to each of the CHA’s websites.
The campaign has been boosted by broadcaster and journalist Fiona Armstrong providing a voiceover for the ads to be on aired on local radio from 1st May. The spokesperson for the CHA adds: “We would like to extend a big thank you to Fiona Armstrong for donating her time and skills to be the voice of our Gifts in Wills radio advert. This will help to raise the profile and impact of the campaign across Cumbria.”St Mary's a gift in your will.
Thank you for your support.
