Leven Valley Fundraising Support Group's generous gift 18-Dec-2015
Leven Valley Fundraising Support Group has just donated a fantastic £8,000 bringing their accumulative total to over £100,000! Last year the group purchased
a new car for the hospice and this year the money has been allocated to replacing 3 special air mattresses and ipad airs for the patients on our in
patients units and to be used by Hospice at Home staff to talk face to face with the doctor!
Val Stangoe CEO said "We are committed to providing the best possible care and environment for our patients and thinking through their needs. The ipads
will give patients and their families access to skype and entertainment and the nurses will be able to input the patients medical notes onto them."
Dorothy Crabtree Chair of the support group is inspired by her mum who didnt receive the best hospice care over twenty years ago in another area and hopes
to do the best to help the patients in this area where she now lives. Her brother Stephen who died at the age of 27 was a keen charity fundraiser in
the EOD Chatham Kent and would be very proud of her efforts.
Dorothy adds "I enjoy organising the events throughout the year to raise much needed funds for the patients and putting something back into the the community!"
Thanks to Dorothy, Leven Valley Fundraising Support Group and the generosity of the Leven Valley Community who have helped provide even more care and comfort
for our patients.
