St Mary's Hospice @stmaryshospice
It's back! St Mary’s Paws for Thought event is back on Sunday 25th September by popular demand. St Mary’s is inviting up to 100 dogs to get their paws moving and come along with their owners for a fun dog walk. Once again, author of Bailey’s Blog, social media star Bailey the chocolate Labrador, will be leading the way (or due to his laid back nature may be not leading …) from St Mary’s Hospice for a walk along Ulverston canal and back.
The fun event starts at 1pm and is £5 to take part, with sponsorship encouraged to raise vital funds for St Mary’s Hospice. Owners have the option of paying £10 which includes a professional photograph of their beloved pet.
Zoe Guest, Head of Income Generation: “We are grateful to our supporters and their furry friends for supporting our Paws for Thought events and hope you enjoy them as much as we do! Last time we raised over £3,000 which makes a huge difference enabling us to reach more families with more care. This time our walk is starting from St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston, and is a great opportunity for dog owners to meet up with friends and family enjoy a fun walk whilst supporting St Mary’s.”
Bailey, Zoe’s dog adds: “Exercise isn’t my favourite activity, but I have a heart of gold and I understand the importance of St Mary’s Services and the comfort the care brings to their patients and families. Therefore, I would ask all my fellow canines to join me and get involved. Get your paws moving for St Mary’s!!”
All dogs who take part will receive treats for taking part in the event and as a thank you for bringing their owners along.
Places on this sponsored walk can be booked in advance. Please note we are limited to 100 dogs – please book early so you don’t miss out! Registration is £5 per dog or £10 with a photograph, and supporters will be issued with a sponsor form to try and raise as much money as they can for St Mary’s. To book call 01229 580305 and ask to speak to a member of the Fundraising Team. Thank you for your support!
