22-Dec-2016

Melissa Dixon, St Mary's Community Fundraiser said: "This year's Reindeer Run has been our biggest so far with over 500 children taking part and looks set to raise a staggering £5,000. A big thank you to each nursery and childcare setting taking part, including all the staff, parents, family and friends supporting each little reindeer runner. We really appreciate it especially as it's such a busy time of year for everyone. With special thanks going to each child who has taken part, every donation has been gratefully received, however big or small each one makes a difference and brings comfort and support to patients and their loved ones at a difficult time.

It's been a truly heart warming sight to see the children running in their antlers and red noses! We hope they have enjoyed taking as much as we have loved being involved."

The reindeer run enables us to introduce St Mary's in a fun and gentle way, the support we have received has been overwhelming. It has been magical to make reindeer dust in the run up to the event and Christmas. In a true community effort local businesses have also got involved to ensure each setting could give a prize as a thank you to the child who raised the most sponsorship in the nursery.Thank you to all our the businesses who enabled us to do this.

Sam Forrester raise an incredible £402, and receives the Little Subs annual pass prize. this is more poignant as Sam's grandad died at the end of November and the family received help from Hospice at Home, which Sam's mum Nicola said "Hospice at home were absolutely amazing, like angels, we couldn't have asked for better."

Each child has achieved so much, we want to thank everyone, please could everyone help share our thanks so that they know their little reindeer is an absolute superstar to us!
