St Mary's Hospice @stmaryshospice
Sadly Lee White passed away earlier this year. Since then his family have been working hard to fundraise for St Mary's to ensure more patients and their loved ones can have the care, comfort and support of St Mary's Services.
Gill Ray (Lee's mum) and Lee's partner Kim Murray generously donated a cheque to St Mary's Hospice with Bob Qazi, in loving memory of Lee.
Gill said: "We (Kim and I) organised the ball together. The reason we felt we had to raise funds for the hospice at home team was they made it possible
for Lee to come home. When we were told on the Saturday morning there was no more they could do and Lee would probably not survive the pneumonia the
only thing he wanted was to come home. As a family we were overwhelmed, we were lost and the hospice at home team came into our lives at that point
and gave us the help we needed to take Lee home. You made a truly terrible time just that bit easier to get through. We will be eternally grateful
to the nurses that helped Lee and us, they truly are angels."
Gill thank for sharing your personal story and thinking of others - your incredible efforts and donations mean that many more patients and their loved ones can have the support they need. We couldn't do what we do without you, thank you.
Gill adds she wants "people to know how grateful all Lee's family are."
Gill and Kim are also organising a memorial rugby match in January - please support if you can.
