We are open 7 days a week from 10am serving our breakfast menu until 11.30am, our lunch menu 12.00-2.30pm and pre-booked afternoon teas from 1:45pm onwards. You can enjoy our homemade cakes and bakery goods or a glass of wine or beer all day until 4.00pm!
We now offer table service both inside and out on our gorgeous terrace. Walk-ins are welcome but to be sure of a table it’s always best to book. Please call 01229 483783 for bookings.
The Orangery Café and Gift Shop welcomes everyone to enjoy lunch, coffee and a cake, afternoon tea and a browse in our well stocked gift shop. We are lucky to be afforded the best views of Morecambe bay in Ulverston from our terrace which wraps around our light and airy conservatory, both make eating with us a thoroughly pleasant dining experience.
Our menu can be found below. We also have a specials menu which changes daily but always includes an ever changing savoury pastry and our soup of the day, which is always Gluten Free.
Our Afternoon teas are extremely popular and good value too – £18.95 per person, including hot drinks. Booking is essential and 24 hours’ notice is required.
Where ever possible we source our food locally making our miles to plate as small as we can, ensuring we are environmentally friendly as possible whilst being able to support local businesses along the way.
We are proud to support St Mary’s Hospice and 100% of our profits directly benefit the services they provide. You don’t have to run a marathon or climb a mountain to support the work of St Mary’s hospice you can eat cake and enjoy lunch!!
We are able to cater for small parties please feel free to enquire on orangery@stmaryshospice.org.uk and if we can cater for your needs, we will!
Our café is run mainly by a team of dedicated volunteers. We are delighted to be voluntary, but certainly not amateur. We offer a high standard of service and are extremely proud of our volunteers.
Our chefs have over 125 years’ experience between them and are happy to accommodate people with a range of dietary requirements.
