Volunteering

Young Volunteers

At the hospice we want to encourage young people to volunteer so we have introduced a package to offer appreciation and recognition for your time. If you are between 14 and 25 we will award certificates to you for the hours you donate.

This may help you with other qualifications you are undertaking or just add to your life skills and experience. Whichever, it can be used on your CV and we will write a reference for you when you have attained at least a Bronze Award if requested.

If you volunteer for 25 hours you will be awarded a Bronze certificate, 50 = Silver and 75 = Gold. For 14 – 16 year olds volunteer opportunities are available in the Orangery Café or in Retail For 16 + any other role (excluding Community Neighbours) Full training and support is given to all our volunteers.

“Volunteers are our greatest resource. They bring skills, ideas and experiences. They are helpful, friendly and reliable. We couldn’t function without them – they make our team complete”. <Anne Atkinson – Volunteer & Community Engagement Lead
