About Lucy Cavendish

Educated at Cambridge Arts Tutorial College, specialising in Fine Arts, Lucy followed on to London Art School undertaking a Fine Art Degree in painting, Graduating 2:1. Lucy then received scholarships from the Royal Academy and Goldsmith Company covering landscape drawing in Ireland and Southern Spain and spent 5 years travelling and painting around the world.

Over the past 3 years Lucy has become increasingly involved in the Holker Group, a family business owned by Lord and Lady Cavendish, with Holker Hall and gardens at is fore and home to the Cavendish family. The group includes amongst its portfolio: internationally renowned slate mining quarries that trade under the name Burlington Stone, three caravan parks, a national hunt racecourse and house building.

After overseeing the development of the Burlington Stone showroom, which opened in 2010 at the Quarry’s Headquarters in Kirkby in Furness, Lucy took over as Chairman of Burlington Stone from her father in 2012. Her position of Director of the Group grows as Lord and Lady Cavendish continue to hand over the reins of the business to the next generation.

"As a Trustee at St Mary’s Hospice, it offers me the opportunity to facilitate fundraising."
