Meet & greet patients & families. Offer medical admin support, data inputting. Liaising and organising clinical arrangements

Community Neighbour

A friendly face & a helping hand - visit someone near you offering companionship and a little practical help

Positive / Living Groups

8 week courses delivered in different towns – help patients settle in then join in with the sessions, befriend patient and serve refreshments

Day Hospice

An Afternoon per week – helping patients arrive & settle in. Serving refreshments and being a friend

In Patient Unit

An hour or two a week serving meals or befriending patients; reading or playing board games

Drivers: patient transporting & blood collecting

A shift a week - Collect & return patients visiting Day Hospice – using own vehicle

Respond to a phone call to collect blood from FGH and deliver to the hospice

Complementary Therapies

Help at group sessions such as Tai Chi. Offer your services if you are a qualified CT

Family & Bereavement Support

Flexible hours-Listening and allowing families and patients the time to share their thoughts

Help at a friendship & support group

A shift a week – take and process orders, use the till, serve food, clear tables & tidy

Gardening and Vehicle Maintenance

Gardening and Vehicle Maintenance: Flexible hours- weeding, pruning watering or cleaning and checking vehicles

Reception

A morning or afternoon meeting and greeting visitors, answering the phone, dealing with enquiries and problem solving

Retail Shops & Furniture Warehouse

Retail - A shift a week sorting and selling goods.
Furniture Warehouse - collecting, delivering and selling goods.

Administration

Flexible – various tasks such as data inputting, correspondence & keeping records

Trustees

Regular meetings and input. Need specific skills and experience. Usually by application to advert

Retail Driving

A shift a week collecting & delivering donations between outlets & the hospice

Fundraising & Events

Flexible – e.g. sell raffle tickets, help steward events, collection box collectors, distribute leaflets
