What we do

Community Neighbours

community neighbours

Imagine coping with a life shortening illness and the only visits you get are from medical people or carers. You may have family but they are out at work and busy with their own lives. You may have friends but they are struggling themselves to get to see you. This is the reason there are Community Neighbour volunteers visiting people across South Cumbria: Barrow and Dalton, Millom to Grange, Windermere to Coniston.

Community Neighbours-1

Community Neighbours are friendly people who visit someone near to them. A visit can have so many benefits: helping with loneliness, getting out of the house, going for a coffee, going to the shops, making a new friend.Just once a week could make so much difference. It also helps the family; knowing someone cares enough to visit and offer companionship.

Would you or someone you know benefit from having a Community Neighbour?

A "Friendly Face" or a "Helping Hand" could be what's needed
