Friendship and Support Groups
Drop-in Friendship and Support Groups
Drop-in Friendship and Support Groups run regularly in Ulverston, Barrow-in-Furness and Grange-over-Sands (all offer social support to patients
and carers pre and post bereavement).
These are self-help social support groups. To get in touch please call: 01229 580305 during office hours Monday-Friday and ask to speak to either:
Adrienne Slater: Family Support and Bereavement Leader or Jackie Hool: Bereavement co-ordinator. Or by email Adrienne.firstname.lastname@example.org
Please do phone us if you feel you would like some support. If we feel we are not the most appropriate service for you then we will always try
to help you find someone who is. Your loved one does not need to have accessed any of our services.
There are 3 drop-in groups which are run by volunteers. They support patients, and/or families following diagnosis of life limiting diagnosis or
after the death has occurred. These are self-support social groups which aim to alleviate social isolation, providing a friendly ear and chance
to meet together. Some social outings also take place.
