Have a rummage for us! Do you know what you have stored in your attic…garage…cellar… spare room …under the bed?
Let me share a true story…
A St Mary’s supporter watching the TV show Flog It suddenly got very excited, pointing at the screen and saying ‘I’ve got one of those’!
‘One of those’ was in fact a very collectable Liberty Tuderic pewter bowl.
After the program the man rushed out to his garage and began rummaging in boxes, quickly finding the exact same item he had just watched sell at auction. A regular donator to St Mary’s eBay via our Millom shop he contacted the manager, June and let her know what he was bringing in. Fast forward a couple of weeks and we had this amazing pewter bowl listed on eBay for the whole world to see, interest was high and despite some damage it sold for £250, how amazing is that?
This is just one of many anecdotes I could share about the value and saleability of items people have often forgotten they have!
How many of us have stuff packed away, for years…sometimes decades?
How about having a rummage for us, you never know it could be fun!
Now we totally understand not everyone is going to have Liberty Tuderic pewter sitting in their shed but you would be surprised to see what sells on eBay!
Vintage tools…toys from the 70’s or earlier, especially if they’re in original box…vintage games consoles…cameras…ceramics, to name but a few!
It’s not just vintage and antiquarian items we’re interested in…you would be amazed how well clothes and shoes sell on eBay…popular brands include Joe Browns, White Stuff, Next, Joanna Hope, River Island, Craghoppers, Per Una, Monsoon, Clarks & Hotter.
Jewellery is another good seller, costume jewellery, gold, silver…they’re all very popular!
