Crooklands U9’s smash Fundraising goal with extra time to go!

Crooklands U9’s (pictured pre-Covid) are aiming to run 1km a Day in March in order to get active and raise money to support St Mary’s Hospice. The team are all doing their runs individually at the moment with their families due to the guidelines – however at their first training session back on 30th of March they will try to get everyone to the 31km mark with a team run as part of the session.

Organizer and coach Ross Liddicott says “The aim was very much just to help get the boys active in the lead up to restarting football but seemed a good opportunity for the team to raise some money for a very worthwhile cause in doing so. Everyone has started really well and almost all boys are at a total of 7km-10km so on track to achieve the target of 31km per child for the month.”
The boys have absolutely smashed their initial £200 fundraising target already, and if you’d like to add your support you can do so here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/crooklands1kmaday

Well done boys – keep it up! Thank you from us all at St Mary’s 💙⚽️
