Cora’s Story – Day Hospice

Cora attended Ulverston Day Hospice then attended the recent Barrow Day Hospice (when it started earlier this year). She was recommended the service by the Cancer clinic. Cora felt it would be something she would enjoy, so she gave it a go and is glad she did!

Cora says the Day Service means a lot to her. Cora enjoys coming along and has made lots of friends which she now keeps in touch with outside of the Day Hospice. Cora had lost her husband and mum, and was then diagnosed with cancer. She was having a very hard time. Cora believes that the Day Hospice helped her get through this difficult time and take her mind off things. Cora is able to talk to others in similar situations at Day Hospice which she found highly beneficial.

Cora says she would definitely recommend Day Hospice to anyone: “Day Hospice was a very welcoming place and everyone was really friendly.” Cora says to give it a go as you will love it and it will do a lot for you!
