Hannah’s Story

From the moment I met Donna I know I was in very safe hands. I was very nervous about the thought of discussing my grief with a stranger but I felt very comfortable with Donna. Donna was excellent at letting me spill my emotions out: cry, swear, laugh and be angry with zero judgement. Donna rode the waves of emotions with me and told me that it is okay and perfectly normal and human to feel how I felt. I can hand on my heart say that I would not be the giggly, happy girl I am now without Donna and the support she has given me.

I was extremely nervous about Christmas 2019 and with the help from Donna, I even found myself laughing on Christmas day! Something I never thought would happen. I will be forever in debt with Donna for everything she has done for me and I have truly found the zest for life again because of her. We chipped away at that brick wall and it finally all fell down!

Donna, even a difficult time with her own, rang me several times during lockdown, and before I even said hello, knew that I needed that listening ear. She is a true angel and I found a forever friend in Donna.

Thank you so much Donna, and St Mary’s keep up the amazing work lots of love Hannah

Thank you to Hannah for sharing her story
