High Sheriff of Cumbria Opens Refurbished Kitchen and The Orangery Cafe & Gift Shop at St Mary’s Hospice

St Mary’s Hospice was delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Dr Geoff Jolliffe, to officially open the newly refurbished kitchen and The Orangery Cafe & Gift Shop, last week.

This exciting development has been made possible thanks to the generous support of The David Snowdon Trust, Ulverston Town Council, The Frieda Scott Trust, and The Roselands Trust. Their contributions have helped transform the hospice facilities, significantly enhancing the experience for patients, visitors, and the wider community.

The refurbishment has modernised the kitchen, making it more efficient for staff to prepare nutritious meals for both patients and café visitors. Additionally, the project introduced more accessible toilets and a redesigned front-of-house layout, ensuring smoother operations and a welcoming environment for all.

St Mary’s Hospice are incredibly proud of these improvements. The new kitchen and café space allow the hospice to better serve our patients and visitors, and we warmly invite everyone to come and see the changes for themselves.

The Orangery Cafe & Gift Shop is now open and ready to welcome the community to enjoy its refreshed facilities.
