Leave Us a Gift in Your Will

One in every five patients cared for at St Mary’s hospice is supported by gifts left in wills. By leaving us a gift in your will you can ensure that we can continue providing quality, compassionate care for people facing life limiting illnesses as well as vital support for their families.

Every gift no matter the size, can help make a difference. Just 1% of your estate could make a significant difference in the care of future patients. We are grateful to everyone who chooses to remember us in their will.

Important Information

Why Make a Will?

Creating or even updating a will is a straightforward process that ensures your wishes are carried out.
It allows you to:

• Minimise inheritance tax—donations to St Mary’s Hospice are tax-free
• Decide how your assets will be distributed
• Provide for your loved ones and the causes you care about

At St Mary’s, we understand that family and friends come first. If you are considering leaving us a gift, please know how grateful we are for your kindness and generosity—it helps us continue providing care when it is needed most.

Ways to Leave a Gift

Residuary Gift – A percentage of your estate, ensuring your gift retains its value over time and is not affected by inflation.
Codicil – If you already have a will, you can add a legally binding supplement instead of rewriting it.
Pecuniary Gift – A specific sum of money donated to St Mary’s Hospice.
Specific Item – Valuable items, such as property, shares, or jewelry, that can support our work.
