Trust, Grants and Foundations

Support from charitable trusts, grant-making bodies and foundations plays a vital role in helping St Mary’s Hospice provide free, specialist care to people living with life-limiting illnesses across South Cumbria.

These generous contributions allow us to develop and sustain essential services — from patient care on our Inpatient Unit, to bereavement support for families, to innovative community programmes through our Living Well services. Whether funding equipment, covering core costs or enabling new projects, every grant we receive directly enhances the lives of those we care for.

Funding Compassionate Care, Together

We are proud to work with a range of national and local funders who share our values and vision. Their support helps us reach more people, deliver high standards of care, and respond to the evolving needs of our community.

Our dedicated fundraising team works closely with trusts and foundations to ensure transparency, accountability and impact reporting. We welcome the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with funders who want to be part of something truly life-changing.

If you represent a trust or foundation and would like to know more about how your support could make a difference — whether through one-off funding or long-term partnership — we’d love to hear from you.

If you’d like to find out more information please email our Philanthropic Giving Manager Alison Alger.
