St Mary’s Hospice is inviting members of the community to attend a free dementia training event at the Compassionate Community Hub in Barrow-in-Furness on Friday 3rd October, 9:45–11:45am.
The session will feature Dementia: What Next?, an online webinar hosted by Dementia UK’s specialist Admiral Nurses. Designed to support people at any stage of the dementia journey, the session will provide expert information, advice, and practical guidance on navigating life with a diagnosis of dementia.
Recognising that technology and digital access can sometimes be a barrier, St. Mary’s is making this training more accessible by screening the webinar in-person at the hub. After the session, attendees are warmly invited to join a Conversation Café, where they can share reflections, ask questions, and connect with others over a cup of tea in a relaxed and friendly setting.
The first session will cover “What is dementia?” and is open to anyone who would like to understand more about the condition, whether for themselves, a loved one, or in a caring role.
