September is Pain Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of the different ways pain can affect people and to highlight the support available in to those living with pain.
At St Mary’s Hospice, we know that hospice care is about much more than end-of-life care.
Our specialist teams support people with a range of illnesses and symptoms, including pain, helping them to feel more comfortable and improve their quality of life.
Pain can affect people in many different ways. As well as physical discomfort, it can have an impact on our emotions, sleep, relationships and ability to cope with everyday life. Everyone experiences pain differently, which is why personalised support is so important.
To mark Pain Awareness Month, we’ve shared a video featuring Adele, one of our Advanced Nurse Practitioners, who explains more about the different ways pain can affect someone and how St Mary’s can help.
We want more people to understand that support is available. If pain or other symptoms are affecting your quality of life, St Mary’s Hospice is here to help.
