August marks National Wellness Month – a reminder that looking after our wellbeing is important for everyone. For people living with a life-limiting illness, those caring for a loved one, or anyone navigating grief, taking time to connect, move create and simply pause can make a real difference.
At St Mary’s Hospice, wellbeing is about far more than physical health. It’s about supporting the whole person – mind, body and spirit – while creating opportunities to build confidence, reduce isolation and meet others who understand.
Our free wellbeing groups offer welcoming, supportive spaces where friendships can grow, experiences can be shared and people can take positive steps towards feeling stronger, calmer and more connected.

A gentle six-week programme designed to help improve strength, flexibility and confidence while staying active at a pace that suits you. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to socialise and meet others in a relaxed environment.

Through slow, flowing movements and mindful breathing, Tai Chi helps improve balance, relaxation and overall wellbeing. This six-week course is suitable for all abilities and offers a calming way to reconnect with your body.
