Windermere dementia support group moves to new venue

St Mary’s Hospice’s Windermere dementia support group is pleased to announce that, from November, our regular meetings will be held at a new venue, The Jetty Museum.

The group provides a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for people living with dementia and their carers, offering opportunities to meet others, share experiences, enjoy activities and access information and support.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at the Lady Holme Centre in Windermere, where the group first began, for their support and hospitality.

The Jetty Museum is located on Rayrigg Road, Windermere (LA23 1BN). We are keen to ensure the move does not create a barrier for anyone wishing to attend. If you have transport difficulties please do get in touch as we may be able to help with arrangements.

Sophie Murphy-Ayeche, Dementia Admiral Nurse and Dementia Service Clinical Lead, said: “We are so excited to welcome both existing and new attendees to the stunning Jetty Museum for our groups going forward. We are incredibly grateful to the Lady Holme Centre team for their support of our group.

“Our dementia support group provides a safe space for people affected by a dementia diagnosis to enjoy a range of activities, have fun, connect and receive support from St Mary’s skilled dementia team.

“If you’d like to join us, please get in touch. We look forward to seeing you there.”
