St Mary’s Hospice is celebrating after our Dementia Team was named as a finalist at the 2026 Dementia Care Awards, building on its success after receiving a Highly Commended award in 2025.
Dementia Specialist Admiral Nurse Sophie and Dementia Activity Coordinator Leigh represented the hospice at the awards ceremony in London, where they joined Dementia care professionals from across the UK to celebrate excellence, innovation and compassion in Dementia support.
The recognition reflects the team’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of people living with Dementia and those who care for them. Through specialist advice, meaningful activities and tailored support, the team helps people affected by Dementia to live well and remain connected to their communities.
Although they narrowly missed out on the top award at the 2026 Dementia Care Awards, being named a finalist is a significant achievement and highlights the dedication, expertise and compassion our experienced team. We continue to develop new and innovative ways to support people living with Dementia and their families, ensuring they receive the guidance and care they need throughout their journey.
Congratulations to Sophie, Leigh and the entire Dementia Team on this well-deserved national recognition.
