Light Up A Life

Remembering the people who will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The festive season can be a time when we miss those we have loved and lost. Light Up A Life is an opportunity to come together, remember someone special and celebrate the memories we will always carry with us.

By dedicating a light in memory of someone you love, you can honour their life while supporting St Mary’s Hospice to continue providing care, comfort and support to local people and their families.

Join us this December

Everyone is welcome to join us at one of our Light Up A Life services. These peaceful gatherings offer a chance to pause during the busy Christmas season, reflect and remember those who mean so much to us.

Our services:

• Grasmere: St Oswald’s Church – Wednesday 2nd December, 6pm
• Ulverston: St Mary’s Parish Church – Saturday 5th December, 3pm
• Cartmel: Cartmel Priory – Sunday 6th December, 3.30pm
• Barrow: St Paul’s Church – Thursday 10th December, 6pm
• Windermere: St Mary’s Church – Saturday 12th December, 2pm

Dedicate a light

You can dedicate a light in memory of someone special, using the form below, and keep their memory shining brightly this Christmas.

Please make your dedication by Monday 16th November.

Your support helps St Mary’s Hospice continue caring for local people and their families when they need it most.

This Christmas, we will:

• Dedicate a light to your loved one during the festive period on our Christmas tree at St Mary’s Hospice.
• Include your loved one’s name in our order of service, available to collect at any of our church services or from the hospice reception after 9th December.
• Place your personalised message star on our tree, alongside the light shining in their memory.
• Include your loved one’s name and dedication in our online memorial book, available to view on our website from 17th December.
