Online Trading
Online trading allows us to reach a wider customer base and achieve the best price possible for goods. We are looking for people who have a keen interest in selling goods online to become part of our volunteer team.
Maintenance-premises & cars
Monthly checks on all of the hospice vehicles. Help wth building maintenance – putting up shelves, grab bars, fixing things.
Fundraising
Flexible – helping at our diverse range of events and ways of generating income
The Orangery Cafe
A shift a week – take and process orders, use the till, serve food, clear tables and tidy
Retail Driving
A shift a week – collecting and delivering donations between outlets & the hospice
Administration
Flexible – various tasks such as data inputting, correspondence and keeping records
Retail Shops & Furniture Warehouse
A shift a week sorting and selling donated goods. Warehouse – collecting and delivering goods
Reception
A morning or afternoon meeting and greeting visitors, answering the phone, dealing with enquiries and problem solving
Gardening
Flexible hours – weeding, pruning, watering: Cleaning and checking vehicles
Patient Administration
Offer medical admin support, data inputting. Liaising and organising clinical arrangements
Family Support & Bereavement
Flexible hours-Listening and allowing families and patients the time to share their thoughts. Supporting 1 to 1 and group sessions
Patient Drivers
A shift a week – Collect and return patients visiting Living Well Services in Ulverston and Barrow – using own vehicle
In Patient Unit
A couple of hours a week serving meals or befriending patients; reading or playing board games
Day Hospice
A session per week (am or pm) – helping patients arrive & and settle in. Serving refreshments and being a friend
Complementary Therapies
Offer your services if you are a qualified Complementary Therapist. Help at group sessions such as Move More & Relax and other short programmes
Living Well Programme
Help out at our 6 week programmes such as Move More & Relax or Living Well, delivered in different towns – help patients settle in then join in with the sessions and be a friend.
