St Mary’s Hospice Compassionate Cafés

A safe, welcoming space for anyone who has experienced loss

If you’re living with grief, whether your loss is recent or from years ago, you don’t have to face it alone. St Mary’s Hospice Compassionate Cafés offer a gentle, informal space where you can drop in, feel welcomed, and connect with others who understand. Come along for a cup of tea or coffee, quiet support, and friendly conversation or simply sit and be. There’s no expectation to talk and no pressure to share.

What to expect

  • A relaxed, friendly environment
  • Compassionate support and connection
  • Led by St Mary’s Hospice staff and trained volunteers
  • Open to anyone in the community affected by loss

Monday | 10:00–12:00
St Mary’s Hospice Community Hub, Barrow

Tuesday | 10:00–12:00
St Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston

Thursday | 1:00–3:00pm
Ladyholme Centre, Windermere
