Your challenge will help our patients and their loved ones facing their own challenges, by ensuring they have St Mary’s support when they need it most.
My name is Lauren McKenny, and I’m the Junior Sister at St Mary’s Hospice. Thank you for considering taking up a challenge for St Mary’s, our wonderful charity, that I am so proud to work for. I would like to share with you the difference your support for us will make for the team I am privileged to be part of.
I believe it’s important for you to know that the challenge you take on – however you choose to do this will make a big difference to the patients, their families and carers who come to St Mary’s for care, comfort and support. We have a range of services which thanks to the generosity of people like you we can offer free to our community. Through our Living Well activity enabling people to enhance their quality of life and wellbeing after the diagnosis of a life shortening illness, to our nine bed Inpatient Unit, respite care, Hospice At Home Team, Family and Bereavement Support we can continue to be here for when people need us most. This all really matters to our community. Over the years that I have worked at St Mary’s, I’ve seen many patients and families be supported by the work that we do. Your fundraising activity means that we can do more to reach as many people who need our help in our community as possible. By taking part in a challenge for us, we’ll be able to be there for our patients and their families facing challenging times.
So on their behalf, I would like you to encourage you to take part in a challenge to raise vital funds for St Mary’s Hospice. I have done a skydive, an amazing experience that I have never forgotten! And climbed Skiddaw AT NIGHT, coming down to the most incredible views with fellow St Mary’s fundraisers. Whatever you choose, whether it’s a cycle, swim, run or a charity walk we have a fundraising challenge for everyone! And you will be helping to make a real difference for people across our community when they need our help. Thank you.
