Care Quality Commission

On behalf of the Trustees, Val Stangoe, CEO and the Senior Management Team, we are delighted to share with you our CQC Inspection Report, following our unannounced inspection visit by the CQC on 31st May and 2nd June 2016. We would like to thank everyone across all the hospice services and departments – staff and volunteers – for all of your hard work and dedication, which has enabled us to receive this very positive report.

We received “GOOD” in all 5 key areas: caring, safe, responsive, effective and well-led. “Feedback from people using the service, health and social care professionals and visitors was entirely positive.”

The Care Quality Commission, or CQC, is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England. They inspect organisations to make sure that services are providing people with safe, effective, compassionate, high quality care.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has carried out a review of the data available to them about St Mary’s Hospice on 7th January 2022. The CQC did not find evidence that they need to carry out an inspection or reassess the rating of the hospice at this time, which stands as “GOOD”.
