Fundraising Volunteers

F in the fundraising stands for fun, friendly and flexible!

We appreciate that everyone has busy lives with other commitments whether that be family, work or holidays and that’s the beauty of becoming a fundraising volunteer, we do not ask for any regular weekly commitments from yourself.

All we ask is that you sign up to our volunteering quarterly newsletters providing all the information of our up and coming fundraising events and let us know if you can help out… If you’re not available then no need to get back to us.

These events can be really interesting and exciting offering an opportunity to socialise and have fun all whilst raising funds to ensure we can continue to provide love, support and the highest level of care to our patients. These events would not be able to go ahead without the commitment from willing volunteers.

Don’t worry we won’t expect you to be standing their shaking a bucket, our volunteering roles often include jobs such as;

  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Being a helping hand at events
  • Manning a stall at an event – Selling hospice merchandise
  • Marshalling
  • Raising awareness of St Mary’s work and importance of raising funds
  • Attending third party events representing the hospice

What skills will you need to have?

  • Great people skills
  • Approachable
  • Friendly
  • Reliable
  • Ability to handle money
  • Enthusiasm
