Compassionate Cafes – here with our community

We are inviting our community to come along to our Compassionate Cafes.

Lynsey Lawson, Compassionate Communities Team Lead: “At Our Compassionate Cafes, we are here to offer a comforting hand and a listening ear. Our cafes are warm, welcoming, and here to provide a safe space for anyone in our community who is experiencing loss.“

Compassionate Cafes are running every Tuesday at St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston, 10am to 12pm. And in Barrow, the second Thursday of every month at St Mary’s Hospice, Living Well Centre, Duke Street, Barrow 6pm-7.30pm.

The cafes are now up and running, with the first ones starting in October. With Barrow’s first one held recently on 12th October:

Lynsey shared: “It was great to see so many lovely people at our first Compassionate Cafe in Barrow. Thank you all for an evening full of kindness, friendship and support.”

Paul Robinson who attended the cafe said: “It was a very enjoyable and friendly evening. I would highly recommend it.”

Lynsey added: “Our next Compassionate Cafe in Barrow will be taking place on Thursday 9th November 6pm-7.30pm.”
