We were honoured to be able to attend the Tour de Furness presentation evening last week. It was a pleasure to see all of the winners receiving their awards. Head of Fundraising Helen Carlson also had the opportunity to share news with the Rotary Club of Furness about how their long-standing and valuable support will help the hospice to reach even more people in 2022.
The team from Spirit Energy won the Bill Bartlett Memorial Cup with a strong team from Barrow, Aberdeen and Manchester. Local company Deltawaite were second and the Inner Wheel Club of Barrow third. A generous cheque was presented to the hospice £6,000.00. The ‘winnings’ of Olly and Riley, Spirit Energy, Barrow Inner Wheel and Deltawaite were also donated. These donations came to £700 as well as £60 from those who purchased the table displays and a £10 donation.
Congratulations to all of the winners and to everyone who took part in the rides in 2021. Well done and thank you to the Rotary Club of Furness for yet another successful event which raises thousands of pounds every year for St Mary’s Hospice and other local good causes.
