St Mary’s Advanced Care and Legacy Planning Service

We’re here to help

Thinking of planning ahead or starting a conversation with your loved ones this page is aimed at providing practical help and support.

Working with trusted local partners St Mary’s Wills and Legal advice service is here to offer advice and support to our supporters, volunteers and staff.

We aim to offer a neutral space where people can get sound legal advice on making or amending their Will and other legal and advanced care issues.

All the firms involved actively support St Mary’s in our legacy and other fundraising efforts.

Individuals have the right to make decisions in advance about their care and for that to happen as a shared partnership with health and social care professionals.

Individuals who lack capacity to make specific decisions have the right to have decisions made in their best interest in the way required by the Mental Capacity Act.

Health and Social Care professionals have a duty to follow national legislation and guidance. They also need clear instructions about what the individual wants to happen. Deciding right empowers the individual and the professional to make the right decisions.
